2. What screen type?

This is the biggest lever on both picture quality and price:

• OLED - the best contrast and perfect blacks, with the widest viewing angles. Superb for movies in a darker room. The premium option.
• Mini-LED / QLED - get much brighter than OLED, so they're the pick for bright, sunny rooms and sport, and they cost less than OLED at the big sizes.
• Standard LED - the budget workhorse. Perfectly good for casual viewing and second TVs, just without the punch of the other two.
