Filtering to Google TV narrows the field to one thing: the software running on top of the screen, not the screen itself. Google TV brings the interface Google runs across its ecosystem - personalised recommendations pulled across your streaming apps, Chromecast built in for casting from a phone or laptop, and Google Assistant for voice control.

Day to day that means a home screen built around what to watch next rather than a plain grid of app icons, and it's generally one of the more polished, regularly updated smart platforms compared to a manufacturer's own in-house OS. It also tends to feel familiar if you're already using Android or Chromecast elsewhere in the house.

None of that says anything about the panel underneath it.
